Job summary

West Fraser is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow our presence across the Southwest region. You’ll build relationships with builders' merchants, housebuilders, contractors and other construction professionals, identifying opportunities and converting them into profitable sales.

You will manage opportunities through the sales cycle from prospecting to conversion, present proposals and solutions, negotiate terms, and maintain an active CRM-driven pipeline while travelling as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business development, field sales or account management.
• Track record in construction/building products is preferred.
• Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
• Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office apps.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across the construction sector.
• Build and maintain relationships with builders' merchants, housebuilders, contractors, and specifiers.
• Manage opportunities through the sales cycle from prospecting to conversion.
• Prepare proposals, quotations and product solutions for customers.
• Negotiate commercial agreements and secure profitable business.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline with CRM updates and forecasts.
• Represent the business at customer meetings, site visits and industry events.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
