Job summary

Tilbury Douglas is seeking a Business Development Manager in Exeter to drive sustainable growth in our South West Building business. You will identify and secure new opportunities, cultivate strategic client relationships and support the region’s growth objectives.

With close collaboration across senior leadership, pre-construction and operations teams, you will strengthen market presence, expand the client base and help shape our business strategy in the South West.

Qualifications

• Experience in business development within the construction industry with a proven win record.
• Excellent knowledge of the UK construction market, procurement routes and key frameworks.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce.
• Proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to work across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across public and private sector markets, supporting regional growth objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, framework partners and key stakeholders.
• Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, ensuring smooth transition from opportunity to project delivery.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments to inform business strategy.
• Represent the business at networking events, industry forums and client meetings to enhance the company's profile.
