Job summary

Loungers plc is hiring a full-time Sous Chef for the Puerto Lounge, a local café bar in Exeter. You’ll support the Head Chef, lead the kitchen team through service, and ensure every dish leaving the pass meets high standards.

The role offers a 48-hour contract (40-hour option), competitive base salary with bonus and overtime, and clear progression opportunities across Loungers brands. Join a growing hospitality group with strong development programmes.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or Chef de Partie.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence from prep through to plating.
• Be the Head Chef’s right hand and support day-to-day operations.
• Set high standards on the pass for quality, pace, cleanliness and safety.
• Take ownership of prep, par, stock controls, waste, orders and shift handovers.
• Coach and develop the team to deliver great food every shift.
