Compass Group UK in Exeter is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering high quality meals for staff dining.

This role is Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm, with a salary of £32,400 per year. You will lead kitchen operations, ensure food safety, assist in menu development, and mentor a busy team.

Qualifications

• Leadership and team management skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing daily menus.
• Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation for quality.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health regulations.
• Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage kitchen costs.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
• Collaborate with staff to improve dining experience.
