Job summary

LGH Hotels Management is seeking a talented Sous Chef for The Holiday Inn Cambridge, near central Cambridge. You will support the Head Chef, help manage daily kitchen operations, uphold quality and presentation, and lead the team to deliver consistently high-quality dishes.

You will drive food safety, cost controls and training, creating a calm, efficient kitchen environment. The role is ideal for a motivated professional keen to develop within a growing UK hotel portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or Senior Kitchen role required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP and hygiene standards.
• Ability to lead and motivate a busy kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen management.
• Take responsibility for kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence.
• Oversee food preparation to ensure high standard of dishes.
• Implement and follow standard recipes and control food costs.

Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help lead the kitchen team, bringing structure, calm and confidence to daily operations. You will support menu delivery, uphold quality and presentation standards, and ensure the kitchen runs smoothly, particularly in the Head Chef's absence.,

• Support the Head Chef in the day to day management of the kitchen operation
• Take responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
• Oversee food preparation to ensure dishes are cooked and presented to a consistently high standard
• Implement and follow standard recipes while maintaining food cost control
• Lead, guide and support the kitchen team during service
• Ensure all food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards are followed at all times
• Maintain a calm, organised and professional kitchen environment
• Encourage teamwork, high standards and continuous improvement
