Job summary

Care UK is seeking a skilled Sous Chef for Solent Grange Care Home, Staplers Road, Wootton, Isle of Wight. You will craft nutritious meals for residents, led by our Head Chef, with a focus on fresh ingredients and high hospitality standards.

The role offers an induction program, leadership opportunities, and no evening shifts, aligning with our commitment to supportive, patient-centered care. Applicants with experience in healthcare kitchens and special diets are preferred.

• Experience with modified diets to support residents' nutritional needs.

Responsibilities

• Create fresh nutritious meals for residents using high-quality ingredients.
• Support the Head Chef and lead by example in daily kitchen operations.
• Mentor and develop kitchen staff through Care UK's Chef academy.
• Participate in a healthcare-focused induction and uphold patient-centred hospitality.

About the role

• Sous Chef
• week one - Thursday plus one other day in the week and working the weekend
• week two - monday, wednesday, thursday and a friday
• Experience with leading a kitchen (essential)
• Experience with Modified Diets (essential)
• £14.10 per hour

We are looking for a highly skilled Sous chef to create fresh nutritious meals for our residents by way of using the best fresh ingredients available. We are looking for a passionate Chef that will support the Head Chef, lead by example and have the creative flair to showcase high level hospitality. The role consists of straight shifts & no evenings! There will be a fully supported induction showcasing the technical skills required in healthcare and an opportunity to mentor our teams to progress in our own Chef academy.
