Job summary

C&E-Recruitmen is seeking a talented Sous Chef for a beautiful 4-star country house hotel in Berkshire. You will join a busy kitchen, leading the evening service, and work with an established Head Chef across restaurant dining, weddings and private events.

Sous Chef - Country House Hotel - Berkshire - £45,000 Package

We are currently recruiting for a talented Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a beautiful 4-star country house hotel in Berkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef looking for their next challenge, working alongside an established Head Chef in a busy and varied hotel kitchen. With a mix of restaurant dining, weddings and private events, this role offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to take on real responsibility within the kitchen. The successful Sous Chef will play a key role in leading the evening operation, delivering excellent food standards and supporting the development of the kitchen team.

The Perks

• £40,000 basic salary
• Additional earnings of approximately £5,000 per annum

With over 90 bedrooms, a restaurant, bar and a thriving weddings and events business, the hotel offers a varied food operation, from à la carte dining through to private celebrations and large-scale functions.

The Person

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef within a quality hotel, restaurant or banqueting environment
• Confidence running a busy kitchen service and managing the pass
• Experience with weddings, events or banqueting would be advantageous
• A genuine passion for delivering consistently excellent food
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied kitchen operation
• A positive, hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop a team
• Good understanding of food safety, allergens and kitchen management
• Strong communication skills and a calm, professional approach
• The confidence to take ownership of the evening operation and support the Head Chef
• Ideally a driver due to the countryside location
