Job summary

Marston's PLC is seeking a Sous Chef to join our team in a busy pub kitchen. You’ll be right in the action, second to the Head Chef, and responsible for running the line during service while supporting the kitchen team to deliver outstanding dishes.

Qualifications

• Experience as a sous chef or commis chef is desirable.
• Able to run the kitchen line during busy service.
• Support the Head Chef and coach kitchen staff to improve skills.
• Passionate about high standards of food and service.

Responsibilities

• Be second in command to Head Chef and cover shifts when needed.
• Run the line during service and ensure smooth service.
• Assist Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen management.
• Oversee and motivate the kitchen team to develop skills.
• Maintain highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Leading by example, you’ll ensure hot, quality food that you and the team can be proud of gets presented to the pass each and every time.

As Sous Chef you’ll:

Be right in the action in our kitchen, second in command to our Head Chef – stepping up and covering for them when they’re not on shift.

• Offer previous branded experience in a similar role or as an experienced Commis Chef
• Assist our Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen
• Accountable for running the line during service
• Oversee, organise, and encouragethe kitchen team - helping to develop their skills
• Be passionateabout maintaining the highest standards of food and service
