Job summary

Mitchells & Butlers PLC is seeking a Sous Chef for the Springfield Inn within Vintage Inns to lead a section and train a team to deliver high-quality dishes. You will step up in the Head Chef’s absence and drive a cohesive kitchen operation.

You will be responsible for food ordering, preparation, and ensuring adherence to the branded menu, while mentoring chefs and maintaining high hygiene standards across the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Experience as a sous chef or senior line cook in a high-volume pub/restaurant.
• Ability to train and lead a team to deliver quality dishes.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, portions and ordering systems.
• Solid understanding of health & safety regulations and HACCP practices.

Responsibilities

• Be driven to smash targets with your team.
• Train and inspire your team to deliver food to be proud of.
• Support your Head Chef with food ordering, food preparation and stock control.
• Have mastered the art of working with a branded menu.
• Have confidence in managing Chefs and the wider Kitchen Team.
• Oversee that your team conforms to health and hygiene regulations.

You’ll run a section, ensuring your team are working together as one and you will be the person to step up in leading the team in the absence of the Head Chef. Does this sound like you?
