Job summary

White Horse, part of Castle Pubs and Mitchells & Butlers, is seeking a Sous Chef to lead a kitchen section and drive a high-performing team. You will train staff, manage ordering and stock, and ensure the branded menu is executed to standard. Join a supportive team with opportunities for progression and staff benefits.

The role focuses on delivering great food, maintaining hygiene standards, and contributing to a welcoming guest experience in a busy pub environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a kitchen team and coordinating services.
• Ability to train and motivate staff to deliver high-quality dishes.
• Familiar with stock control, ordering, and portioning.
• Understanding of working with a branded menu and standards.

Responsibilities

• Smash targets with your team and maintain pace.
• Train and inspire your team to deliver food they are proud of.
• Support Head Chef with food ordering, prep and stock control.
• Master the branded menu and ensure consistency across dishes.
• Manage Chefs and the wider Kitchen Team.
• Ensure compliance with health and hygiene regulations.
