Job summary

Telford Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort in Telford seeks an experienced Sous Chef to lead and mentor your brigade in a busy hotel kitchen. You will ensure high-quality meals leave the pass, maintaining presentation and standards.

You will bring previous hotel or large-volume kitchen experience, be skilled in cost controls, GP, and stock management, and drive training and development. The property offers a supportive environment with opportunities across The QHotels Collection.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie is required.
• Experience in a hotel or busy, high-volume operation is preferred.
• Conference, banqueting and events catering experience is advantageous.
• Detail-oriented with strong standards and cost awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example, hands-on in the kitchen mentoring your brigade.
• Ensure the quality and presentation of dishes leaving the pass to spec.
• Oversee GP, stock control and wastage management.
• Drive training and development within the team.

What will I do?

Leading by example, you will be hands on in the kitchen working alongside your team, providing guidance and mentorship. You’ll ensure the quality and delivery of food leaving the kitchen pass is to spec, to a very high standard and presentable.

Is this the role for me?

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie
• Have worked in a hotel environment or in a busy, high volume operation
• Conference, banqueting & events catering experience would be ideal
• Quality & standards driven with a keen eye for detail
• People management experience
• Strong knowledge of GP, stock control, costs and wastage
