Berkeley Scott Limited is seeking an experienced Education Sous Chef for a term-time role in Barbican. You will assist in preparing nutritious meals for students and staff under the guidance of the Head Chef.

This position offers weekends off, a strong work-life balance and weekly pay. The role requires solid culinary skills, kitchen leadership, and commitment to safe food practice; DBS and Level 2 Food Safety certification are desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year’s experience as a Chef.
• Experience in education catering desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).
• Level 2 Food Safety and Allergens certificate.
• Reliable, professional with good communication skills.
• Passion for preparing healthy meals for children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of nutritious meals for students and staff.
• Support the Head Chef with menu planning and kitchen operations.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with orders.
• Supervise kitchen assistants during service.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety and health and safety regulations.
• Help deliver an efficient and high-quality catering service.
