Job summary

Smyth & Co near Bath is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join a beautiful countryside restaurant known for exceptional food and a strong farm-to-table philosophy.

You will support the senior kitchen team, lead junior chefs, manage stock and help drive a seasonally driven menu, all while upholding high standards and a balanced work schedule. Salary £40,000 per annum, 40 hours per week, overtime paid.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience as a Sous Chef within a high-quality restaurant, hotel or gastro-led operation.
• Passion for seasonal, British and produce-led cooking.
• Confident mentoring junior chefs and maintaining kitchen standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day running of a busy, high-quality kitchen.

The Role

Working closely with the senior kitchen team, you will:

• Maintain consistently high standards across preparation and service
• Contribute to a constantly evolving, seasonally driven menu
• Support stock management, ordering and kitchen organisation
• Maintain excellent food safety and kitchen standards
