Job summary

Personnel Selection Recruitment are delighted to be assisting with a Sous Chef vacancy at a prestigious historic hotel and restaurant venue in West Sussex. You will work under the Executive Head Chef, help lead the kitchen team, and deliver high-quality dishes across restaurant, private dining and events.

This permanent role offers £35,000 per annum, a 48-hour working week, share of GP bonus and tips, live-in accommodation, free parking and the chance to be part of a highly regarded hospitality

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef in a quality hotel, restaurant, pub or events environment.
• Confident, hands-on and calm under pressure.
• Pride in great food, strong service and a clean, organised kitchen.
• Enjoy being part of a friendly team where standards matter and everyone supports one another.

Responsibilities

• Work under the guidance of the Executive Head Chef, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Help lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team.

• Maintain excellent standards of food presentation, consistency and kitchen organisation.
• Assist with ordering, stock control, GP awareness and waste management.
• Ensure food hygiene, health and safety standards are upheld at all times.
