Job summary

Bath Brew House is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our kitchen team in Bath. You will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver consistently excellent food, develop the team and shape an offer that matches our pub’s lively energy.

We celebrate passion, personality and beer, and we’re excited to find someone who can drive food quality while helping grow our kitchen culture.

Qualifications

• Experience as sous chef or senior demi-chef de partie is desirable.
• Ability to lead a busy kitchen and manage food quality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver consistently high-quality food during peak services.
• Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness and organisation.
• Assist with ordering, stock control and managing GP.
• Contribute ideas for specials and menu development.
• Ensure consistency across main kitchen and burger shack areas.
• Step up to run the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Help build a positive, energetic kitchen culture.

We’re looking for a brilliant Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at Bath Brew House and help us take our food offer to the next level.

With an exciting refresh on the horizon, this is a great opportunity for a Sous Chef who wants to be part of something with real potential. You’ll work closely with our Head Chef to deliver consistently great food, develop the team and help shape an offer that matches the fun, lively energy of Bath Brew House.

About Bath Brew House

Bath Brew House is a proper pub with personality. We brew our own beer on site, serve it fresh from the tanks and pair it with hearty, crowd-pleasing food that keeps people coming back.

Think locals, craft beer lovers, big weekends, buzzing gardens, packed Sunday roasts and plenty of pints.

As we evolve Bath Brew House, food is front and centre. We want to be as well-known for our banging burgers, proper pub classics and legendary Sunday roasts as we are for our beer.

The Food

This is pub food with confidence and comfort at its core.

The Role

As Sous Chef, you’ll be the Head Chef’s right hand and a key part of leading our kitchen day to day.

You’ll help us:

• Deliver consistently brilliant food, even when the kitchen is flying
• Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team
• Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness and organisation
• Support with ordering, stock control and managing GP
• Bring ideas and creativity to specials and menu development
• Keep standards high across both our main kitchen and garden burger shack
• Step up and confidently run the kitchen when the Head Chef isn’t there
• Build a kitchen culture that people genuinely enjoy being part of

This isn't a role where we want someone to simply turn up, cook and go home. We want someone who cares about the food leaving the pass, backs their team and wants to have an impact on what we're building.

About You

You might already be a Sous Chef looking for your next challenge, or a strong Junior Sous/Chef de Partie ready to make the step up.

• Thrive in a busy, high-volume pub kitchen
• Take pride in sending out great food every time
• Stay calm when the tickets start rolling in
• Enjoy helping other chefs develop
• Understand the importance of GP, stock and kitchen controls
