Job summary

The Hampshire Court Hotel & Spa, part of The QHotels Collection, is seeking a Sous Chef to lead and mentor a busy kitchen brigade in a 90-bedroom hotel in Basingstoke, Hampshire.

You will work hands-on, ensuring high standards and consistent presentation of dishes, while managing costs, stock, and GP. Experience in conference, banqueting and events is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in hotels.
• Strong knowledge of GP, stock control, costs and wastage.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and mentor your brigade in a busy kitchen.
• Ensure the quality and delivery of food leaving the pass is to spec and high standard.
• Work hands-on alongside your team to support service.

What will I do?

Leading by example, you will be hands on in the kitchen working alongside your team, providing guidance and mentorship. You'll ensure the quality and delivery of food leaving the kitchen pass is to spec, to a very high standard and presentable.

Is this the role for me?

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie
• Have worked in a hotel environment or in a busy, high volume operation
• Conference, banqueting & events catering experience would be ideal
• Quality & standards driven with a keen eye for detail
• People management experience
• Strong knowledge of GP, stock control, costs and wastage
