Job summary

Platinum Recruitment Consultancy is seeking a Sous Chef for a 4‑star hotel in Aylesbury. The role offers a salary up to £36,000 and straight shifts on a 40‑hour week, with benefits including a workplace pension and staff discounts.

The successful candidate will support the Head Chef, lead a busy kitchen and uphold top quality, safety and consistency across all services, while training junior staff and maintaining cost controls.

Key responsibilities

As Sous Chef, you’ll play a key role in the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef and leading from the front. Your duties will include:

• Supporting the Head Chef with the smooth operation of all kitchen services
• Maintaining high standards across food quality, presentation, and consistency
• Overseeing food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards
• Managing stock control, ordering, and minimising waste
• Training, mentoring, and developing junior team members
• Taking full responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
