We are recruiting a Sonographer to join our friendly, forward-thinking team in providing a high-quality diagnostic ultrasound service.
The department comprises 14 scan rooms plus additional rooms in a bespoke women’s health unit. We utilize modern equipment, regularly updated under a rolling replacement programme.
You will work across all sites, including outpatient and day case surgery at the Leigh site, complex inpatient cases, general medical and obstetrics at the Wigan sites, and additional scan sites within the community.
Flexible working patterns may be required. Part-time and flexible working requests will be considered.

The role requires you to work across all areas in the Trust, with a varied clinical skill set including obstetrics, gynae/transvaginal, and general medical scans. Experience in small parts / MSK scans is desirable. For obstetrics, the ability to participate in combined screening is required, and a DQASS sonographer code is essential.
You will participate in regular clinical governance and audit. We offer a flexible, person-centred, and innovative approach to supporting staff and service development. There is also a student training programme in collaboration with the University.
You will be welcomed by a supportive team of 17 Sonographers. We actively encourage and support CPD and further training, including MSK. Our focus is on in-house mentoring and preceptorship to foster personal development and leadership skills, enabling professional growth.
