Advanced Practitioner Sonographer

We are looking for a dedicated Sonographer with excellent clinical skills to join our friendly and progressive team.

Whether you are a new sonographer seeking your first role in an acute environment or an experienced sonographer looking to broaden your skills, Tameside Hospital offers a wealth of opportunities.

The Tameside Ultrasound department is forward-thinking and has undergone significant transformation recently, including investment in ultrasound equipment and enhanced support from radiologists and management. We are one of the few trusts in the North West led by a Consultant Sonographer providing mentorship and clinical support. Additionally, two Trainee Consultant Sonographers will join us in May.

We promote and support continued professional development in a supportive learning environment, encouraging attendance at relevant study days and national conferences such as BMUS and UKRC. We also hold monthly Ultrasound interesting case & Gynaecology meetings and quarterly Radiology Audit meetings.

Flexible working options are available, including evening and weekend shifts.

The role involves acting as an independent ultrasound practitioner, performing and reporting on ultrasound examinations, assisting the Consultant Radiographer with daily department operations, and providing training and supervision to staff and students.
