Are you a Sonographer with a PGC or PGD in Medical Ultrasound, and experience in Obstetrics, Gynae, and General Medical Ultrasound? Then consider a move to the Ultrasound team at Manchester University Foundation NHS Trust.
This post is open to all Sonographers and will be based at Wythenshawe Hospital. We have a broad caseload of obstetric and non-obstetric work, including an emergency gynae unit.
Our department utilizes Siemens Redwood and Sequoia US machines, along with brand new GE Volusons, providing high-quality, specialized ultrasound services across all stages of pregnancy, gynecology, abdominal, pediatrics, MSK, neck, and scrotal ultrasound scans in an acute hospital setting.
As a vital member of our team, you'll provide an efficient ultrasound service and create a welcoming atmosphere for patients. Proven ultrasound experience, effective communication skills, and flexibility are essential for success.
We support education and training, offering continuing professional development and opportunities to specialize further. A Recruitment and Retention Premium is available after 12 months of service.
The role involves working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive ultrasound services at Manchester Foundation Trust, primarily based at Wythenshawe Hospital, with potential cross-site work based on service demand.
You will use complex ultrasound equipment to scan a diverse patient population, issue written reports, and discuss findings with patients and clinicians, including delivering distressing news compassionately.
Participation in student training is integral, with access to a state-of-the-art Ultrasound training room equipped with multiple phantoms.
