Job summary

Hawksmoor is seeking a Sommelier in the United Kingdom, bringing deep wine knowledge and warm hospitality to our award‑winning wine team. You will curate experiences for guests, train staff, and contribute to menu development while upholding Hawksmoor’s high standards of hospitality and excellence.

You’ll lead exceptional wine service, guide guests through the list with enthusiasm, and assist the Wine Manager in maintaining and growing the wine programme across bustling floor service.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sommelier or Senior Waiter with strong wine knowledge.
• Confident, engaging and passionate about helping guests discover new wines.
• WSET Level 2 qualification; Level 3 a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional wine service and pairings across the restaurant floor.
• Guide guests through the wine list with enthusiasm, knowledge and genuine hospitality.
• Support the Wine Manager in maintaining and developing the wine programme.
• Train and mentor FOH staff in wine service, tastings and product knowledge.
• Maintain stock control, cellar organisation and accurate records.
• Contribute to menu development and seasonal selections.
