Job summary

Hawksmoor in Liverpool is seeking an experienced Sommelier to lead wine service across the restaurant floor, curate recommendations and support the team with training and knowledge.

You’ll bring strong wine knowledge, enjoy engaging guests, and contribute to developing the wine programme while upholding Hawksmoor’s hospitality standards and warm, inclusive service.

Eligible candidates have WSET Level 2 (Level 3 a bonus) and a passion for sustainable sourcing.

Qualifications

• Experienced as a Sommelier or Senior Waiter with strong wine knowledge.
• Calm, organised and professional under pressure.
• Able to train and mentor FOH staff in wine service and tastings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional wine service and pairings across the restaurant floor.
• Guide guests through the wine list with enthusiasm and hospitality.
• Support the Wine Manager in maintaining and developing the wine programme.
• Train and mentor FOH staff in wine service, tastings and product knowledge.
• Maintain stock control, cellar organisation and accurate records.
• Contribute to menu development and seasonal selections.
