Job summary

The Pig and Butcher Islington Limited is seeking an experienced Sommelier / FOH Supervisor to join our management team in Islington, London. This hands-on role combines wine leadership with day-to-day FOH supervision to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

You will work closely with the Management team and Beverage Manager to develop and deliver our wine programme, lead service, train the FOH team and ensure a knowledgeable, engaging hospitality experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of WSET Level 2, Level 3 highly desirable.
• Experience as a Sommelier or in a supervisory role within a quality restaurant.
• Strong wine knowledge and guest service skills.
• Ability to lead a team during busy services.
• Excellent organisation and stock control understanding.

Responsibilities

• Leading and overseeing wine service across the restaurant.
• Delivering confident, knowledgeable wine recommendations to guests.
• Helping guests navigate our extensive wine list and create memorable experiences.
• Collaborating with the Beverage Manager on wine selection, suppliers and programme development.
• Supporting the General Manager with day-to-day restaurant operations.
• Taking an active supervisory role during service and leading the FOH team by example.
• Maintaining high standards of service, presentation and guest experience.
