Job summary

Public House is seeking a Sommelier to lead our wine program, pairing wines with our seasonal menu and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You will educate and motivate the team, curate an outstanding wine list, manage inventory, and collaborate with chefs to create perfect pairings. A passion for wine and guest service is essential, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-end restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Deep passion for wine and a willingness to share knowledge with guests and staff.
• Extensive understanding of global wine regions, varietals and pairing principles.
• Certification from a recognized institution is preferred but not mandatory.

We are seeking a talented and knowledgeable Sommelier to join our team.

As a Sommelier, you will be the ambassador of our wine program, responsible for enhancing the guest experience through expert wine pairings, education, and impeccable service. You will work closely with the beverage manager and culinary team to curate an outstanding wine selection that complements our menu offerings.

• Salary £13.50+ Service charge (Earn an extra £4 - £6 per hour)

What you'll be doing as aSommelier:

About you, our new Sommelier:

• Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a high end restaurant or hospitality environment.
• A deep passion for wine and a desire to share your knowledge.
• Extensive understanding of global wine regions, varietals, and pairing principles.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• A friendly, professional, and team-oriented attitude.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Certification from a recognized institution (Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET) is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with beer, spirits, and cocktails is a plus.
