Location: United Kingdom commutable to London/Leeds

Contract: Full Time Permanent

Shifts: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am until 5:30pm with 1 hours unpaid lunch break

Work model: Remote but with client meetings in London and Leeds

Williams Lea seeks a Solutions Director to join our team!

Williams Lea is the leading global provider of skilled, technology-enabled, business-critical support services, with long-term trusted relationships with blue-chip clients across investment banks, law firms and professional services firms. Williams Lea employees, nearly 7000 people worldwide, who provide efficient business services at client sites in often complex and highly regulated environments, from centralised Williams Lea onshore facilities, and through best cost company offshore locations.

Purpose of role

The purpose of this role is to assist in creating, maintaining, and improving overall strategy for Williams Lea in one of our key global sectors and service lines, Legal services. This role will be focused on process improvement and innovation for new and existing clients. Working closely with the Global Solutions Director for Legal Services, the field Operations Teams and the Business Development teams in each region, the Legal Services Solutions Director will continue to grow this service line with new-from-new and new-from-existing clients while also overseeing existing client relationships. This role will work closely with the Account Directors of each team to ensure client satisfaction and optimal working conditions. Providing solution development for new and existing business, guidance, and expertise to ensure thorough planning and execution, while managing both operational and commercial risks. Assist in leading the overall solution design for all business from the opportunity assessment through the life of the account.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in new business development support and solutioning
  • Aid in development and maintenance of all best practice toolkits and subject matter training support
  • Review of implementation such that best practice and the optimal solution is always deployed
  • Review and oversight of continuous improvement such that operations are taking advantage of the latest best practice toolkits and capabilities. (Including benchmarking operations).
  • Work alongside the Technology product managers to develop and deliver a roadmap of technology innovation making automation a priority.
  • Responsible for taking full ownership of the development, education and execution of the global value proposition for designated service line
  • Create/maintain strategies, sales & marketing materials that support the growth for designated service line. This includes development of the go-to-market strategy, identifying project costs and managing all projects within budget and identifying opportunities for profit enhancement through process efficiencies
  • Support the field, across all regions in the development of solutions for new-from-new or new-from-existing accounts. Coordinate the solution development when required for larger more complex deals
  • Develop and coach field client support teams as appropriate in the evolution of the Williams Lea’s proposition and service delivery, including the development of best practice tool kits
  • Creates strategic business plans and business proposals; including opportunities for internal change management
  • Support the successful delivery of all opportunity assessment and diligence activities; identify client resources required to successfully deliver the assessment opportunity
  • Prepare and lead discussions with prospects around assessment activities
  • Conduct interviews and coordinate inputs and assessment findings
  • Coordinate the solution development, commercial proposal and related inputs for internal approval and client presentations
  • Identify and document gaps, risks and assumptions for all solutions
  • Support client relationship leaders with contract negotiation with new/existing clients to deliver against commercial model, and coordination of contract turns and signatures
  • Provide SME support to field when required for QBR, “C-Level Meetings”.
  • Develop and maintain accurate benchmarking information.
  • Develop meaningful content for QBR’s.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on initiatives to drive growth which includes Demand Generation and Web Content.
  • Collaborate with Technology team to enhance existing platforms, explore new technologies that will enhance our ability grow top line.
  • Establish relationships with external service partners (technology, equipment vendors, software providers)
  • Create and manage a “Knowledge book” detailing new business engagements
  • Encourage innovation, ideas and input regarding service improvements from all employees
  • Ensure that communication is effective and sharing of knowledge is routine
  • Challenge the status quo where appropriate and seek innovative service solutions
  • Regularly report on achievements and issues using the prescribed technology / tools, escalating issues where required
  • The operations team will rely heavily on this role for their subject matter expertise in a given service line as this role will build and sell solutions based on their expertise. This role will guide the operations team to execute on the solutions developed.
  • This role will develop the go-to-market strategy of a particular service line in alignment with long and short-term business objectives. This role will greatly influence those objectives by determining how we sell the services we provide.
  • The employee investigates and resolves matters of significance on behalf of management.

Personal attributes

  • Minimum of undergraduate degree required in sector and/or service of focus such as, accounting, legal administration or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 10+ years of experience managing teams providing services in areas related to the key, strategic service or sector; such as Document Processing, Administration services, proof reading, first impressions etc.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness of experience in delivering solutions from a consulting or strategic perspective, ideally within Legaltech or with an emphasis on AI Solutions.
  • Offers strong operations experience and perspective for Williams Lea’s service offering in Financial Services.
  • Able to effectively deliver change management in complex environments
  • Understand legal documents included MSAs, SOWs, and LOIs. Ability to interact with and negotiate business positions to internal and external council and client stakeholders.
  • Possesses superior client facing communication skills; ability to lead presentations to internal and external stakeholders; effectively manages sensitive client conversations and develop consensus on key issues
  • Experience in leading out-sourcing projects to either centralized on-shore operations or off-shore, and able to articulate with confidence, the benefits, and risks of such programs
  • Demonstrated client relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage and coach teams across a matrix/virtual environment to their optimal levels
  • Able to influence/steer at a senior and executive level within and outside client groups
  • Detail oriented, decisive, and proactive problem solver
  • Computer literate and able to develop high quality professional presentations through MS Office particularly, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
