Job summary

Intact Insurance is seeking a Solution Data Architect to lead the design of robust data architectures aligned with enterprise standards. You will work with enterprise architects, the Chief Data Office and technology teams to deliver data models, dictionaries and integration designs.

The role emphasises data governance, secure design practices and project-level leadership, with hands-on modelling using Erwin and exposure to Purview, Azure Databricks and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data modelling experience with industry-standard tools.
• Experience delivering solution-level data architecture across complex programmes/projects.
• Knowledge of data protection, governance frameworks and secure design practices.
• Familiarity with enterprise data catalogues and MDM tools is desirable.

Job description

As the Solution Data Architect you will be reporting to the Lead Solution Data Architect, playing a key role in designing robust, scalable and compliant data architectures., working closely with enterprise architects, the Chief Data Office, technology teams and business stakeholders. You'll make an impact by:

• Designing and delivering high-quality solution data architectures aligned to enterprise standards
• Developing and maintaining solution data models, dictionaries and integration designs
• Supporting canonical data exchange across strategic systems
• Acting as the project-level data architecture lead, providing trusted guidance to stakeholders
• Embedding data governance and Data Protection by Design principles
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of data architecture practices and patterns
  Advanced data modelling and architectural design skills
• Hands-on experience with data modelling tools is essential. Erwin would be highly beneficial
• Excellent understanding of data integration patterns, middleware and database technologies
• Knowledge of data protection, governance frameworks and secure design practices
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview or other enterprise data catalogue platforms
• Experience with master and reference data management tools (e.g. Ataccama, Profisee - desirable)
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including Databricks and Power BI
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Experience delivering solution-level data architecture across complex projects and programmes
• Experience producing data impact assessments, guidance and reusable design patterns
