Job summary

GBR Recruitment Ltd are partnering with a leading specialist in Material Handling machinery design, manufacturing & installation to recruit an experienced SolidWorks Applications Engineer. You will design and bring to life large-scale manufacturing plant layouts and machinery engineering solutions, supporting the sales department using SolidWorks and 2D software.

Interviews are available now with an immediate start depending on notice periods.

Qualifications

Strong in using SolidWorks for 3D applications creation.
2D software experience.
Applications Engineering experience.
Material handling machinery experience or other large-scale complex machinery.

Responsibilities

Create accurate 3D layouts of large-scale machinery.
Ensure sales designs and machinery layouts are visually appealing.
Translating sales enquiries into what is needed in the 3D layout design.
Create a portfolio of 3D sales models for all machinery types.
Involved in the creation of accurate low-res shells of all engineering modules that make up standard machinery products.
Animate designs to show materials flowing over the system, access areas & maintenance tasks (flybys & 360-degree views) with minimized file sizes.
Produce attractive flow diagrams to illustrate what the 3D design is doing with materials (in MS Visio or similar).
Automated BOM creation from SolidWorks.
Assist with tender bids.
Create monthly statistical reports.
