Job summary

GBR Recruitment Ltd has partnered with a leading specialist in Material Handling machinery to recruit an experienced SolidWorks Applications Engineer. The role focuses on designing and bringing to life large scale manufacturing plant layouts and machinery engineering solutions, supporting sales with 3D (SolidWorks) and 2D models.

You will build a library of 3D models for sales, create low‑res shells for standard products, and animate designs to show material flow, access and maintenance tasks

Qualifications

Strong in using SolidWorks for 3D layouts of large scale machinery.
Proficient with 2D software such as drafting tools.
Experience in applications engineering or supporting sales and engineering teams.
Experience with material handling machinery or large scale capital equipment.

Responsibilities

Create accurate 3D layouts of large scale machinery that are visually appealing for sales.
Devising 3D layouts from sales enquiries to meet customer needs.
Create low‑res shells of engineering modules for general arrangement drawings.
Animate designs to show material flow, access and maintenance tasks, including flybys and 360° views.
Produce eye-catching flow diagrams to illustrate 3D design processes (MS Visio or similar).
Automate BOM creation from SolidWorks and assist with tender bids.
Create monthly statistical reports.
