Job summary

Resourcing Group invites applications for a Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join a well-regarded Wills & Inheritance team in Reading. You will manage a varied caseload of private client matters and have opportunities for professional development and progression.

The role requires 3–7 years' PQE with strong technical knowledge in estates and tax planning, plus experience supervising junior fee earners and contributing to business development.

Are you an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive looking for your next career move?

We are working with a well-established and highly regarded law firm that is looking to appoint an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join its established Wills & Inheritance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with 3-7 years' PQE who is looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and progressive environment. The role offers genuine opportunities for professional development, increased responsibility and long-term career progression.

The Role

You will manage your own varied caseload of private client matters, including:

• Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Probate and estate administration
• Tax planning
• Trust administration
• Court of Protection matters

Alongside your own caseload, you will also have the opportunity to take on a broader role within the team, including:

• Providing technical support and guidance to junior team members
• Supervising, mentoring and developing colleagues
• Contributing to the strategic development of the department
• Building strong relationships with existing referrers and professional contacts
• Supporting business development, networking and marketing initiatives
• Raising the profile of the department within the local and professional community

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
• Have 3-7 years' PQE within Private Client law
• Have strong experience across a broad range of private client matters
• Demonstrate excellent technical knowledge, particularly around complex estates and tax planning
• Have experience supervising, mentoring or supporting junior fee earners
• Possess excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Be commercially aware, with an interest in business development
• Be proactive, collaborative and committed to providing an exceptional client service
