Job summary

Nexus Careers Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to work at a static Melton Mowbray site on a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with immediate start. The role is temporary with strong potential to become permanent, and requires confidence working independently to maintain the grounds to a high standard.

You will perform general grounds maintenance, ride-on mowing, hedge cutting and vegetation care while liaising with the client to meet maintenance requirements,

Qualifications

• Previous grounds maintenance experience is essential.
• Confident using ride-on mowers and maintenance equipment.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• General grounds maintenance at a static site.

Location: Melton Mowbray

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm (40 hours per week)

Start: Immediate

Job Type: Temporary, with strong potential to become permanent

We are looking for an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative to work independently at a static site in Melton Mowbray.

This is a sole operative role, ideal for someone who is confident working on their own, managing their workload and taking responsibility for maintaining the site to a high standard.

Duties include:

• General grounds maintenance


• Ride-on mowing


• Hedge cutting, strimming and general vegetation maintenance


• Operating a buggy/quad-bike-style vehicle with equipment attached


• Managing your own daily workload and prioritising tasks


• Liaising directly with the client regarding maintenance requirements and plans


• General upkeep and presentation of the grounds


• Locking up and securing the site when required

About You:

• Previous grounds maintenance experience is essential


• Confident using ride-on mowers and grounds maintenance equipment


• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision


• Confident and competent operating a buggy/quad-bike-style vehicle


• Good communication skills and able to liaise professionally with the client


• Reliable, organised and takes pride in their work

A full driving licence is not required, provided you are confident operating the on-site vehicle.
