Job summary

Nexus Careers Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Mobile Grounds Maintenance Operative to cover Nottingham and surrounding areas. The role involves hands-on grounds work at schools, mobile rounds, and travel between sites while driving a company van.

You should have previous grounds maintenance experience, a valid DBS check, and a full driving licence. PA1/PA6 are preferred but not essential. This temporary position offers strong potential to become permanent.

Job description

Location: Unit 2, Stamford Court Depot, Nottingham, NG5 5LZ
Area: Nottingham and surrounding areas
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Start Time: 7:30am
Contract: Temporary with strong potential to become permanent

We are currently looking for an experienced Mobile Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team, working across schools and mobile grounds maintenance rounds throughout Nottingham.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with previous grounds maintenance experience who is confident working independently, travelling between sites and driving a company van.

The Role

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, your duties will include:

• Carrying out general grounds maintenance across schools and other sites
• Working on mobile rounds throughout Nottingham and surrounding areas
• Grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting and general site maintenance
• Maintaining grounds to a high standard
• Travelling between different locations as part of your daily duties
• Safely operating grounds maintenance equipment
• Working professionally and respectfully on school sites
• Driving a company van between sites

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous grounds maintenance experience - essential
• A valid DBS check - essential
• A full and valid driving licence
• Confidence driving a van and travelling between sites and happy to travel when necessary
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A reliable, professional and hardworking attitude
• Good attention to detail and pride in your work
• PA1 & PA6 qualifications are preferred but not essential.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, confident and takes pride in maintaining outdoor spaces to a high standard. Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be comfortable travelling to different locations and working across multiple sites.
