Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a key business and influential player in the global energy market. The company has a vast portfolio of renewable energy assets and a brilliant company culture that prioritizes employee well-being. We are looking for someone with experience in the utility-scale solar sector, but we are also open to candidates with large rooftop solar experience.

This Field Service Technician / Solar Technician role offers an excellent salary, depending on experience, with opportunities for overtime. The position emphasizes work-life balance. Responsibilities and Duties

1. Report to the Area Manager and ensure optimal performance of large-scale solar assets.
2. Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar sites in Chichester and surrounding areas, with occasional travel for business needs.
3. Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements during duties.
4. Test both DC and AC systems, identify faults, and trace issues.
5. Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to diagnose asset issues.
6. Gain Authorized Person status after receiving training.
7. Perform consistent inspection, maintenance, and testing of systems.
8. Analyze data to identify trends and suggest operational improvements.
9. Assist occasionally with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, ground maintenance, and site CCTV operations.
10. Be flexible to work outside your usual area based on business needs.

Professional Qualifications

• Level 3 in electrical installations (minimum)
• 18th edition wiring regulations
• Ideally C&G 2391 or equivalent
• HSE qualification (desired)

Experience

• Experience within a solar or BESS environment is highly desirable.
• UK driving license is essential.

Personal Skills

• Flexible with location and willing to travel outside your usual area.
• Experience liaising with third parties and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read, write, and assess RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) is beneficial.
• Motivated to learn and make a genuine difference.

Salary and Benefits

• Starting salary up to £40,000 depending on experience.
