Job summary

RES is seeking a fully qualified electrician for a field-based Technician(Solar) role. You will perform operations and maintenance on utility-scale solar PV plants and battery storage systems, ensuring safety, quality and performance within budget.

The role includes weekend on-call duties, overtime, and a company vehicle, phone and laptop. Strong candidates will have HV competencies, experience with AC/DC, SCADA and communications networks, plus the ability to travel between sites and work

Qualifications

• UK driving licence required.
• Fully qualified electrician with HV competencies.
• Experience with solar PV O&M and MW-scale plants is essential.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC systems, safety and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to health and safety requirements at all times.
• Achieve Authorised Person status per training and role.
• Perform planned inspection and maintenance per requirements.
• Inspect, test and maintain plant and equipment.
• Conduct AC/DC testing, troubleshooting and fault-finding.
• Carry out reactive maintenance and fault diagnosis promptly.
• Manage subcontractors and perform quality checks on their work.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Communicate with O&M office and team functions.
• Travel between sites and be willing to cover other sites for training.
