Job summary

Renewable Energy Systems Ltd (RES) is seeking a Field-based Technician (Solar) to operate and maintain MW-scale ground-mounted PV plants and battery storage, ensuring safety, quality and performance within budget. The role requires a fully qualified electrician with HV/DC competencies and readiness for weekend on-call duties and site travel.

RES provides a company vehicle, private health insurance, a contributory pension, and invest in role-specific training.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Approved Electrician.
  • Inspection and testing qualifications (C&G 2391 or 2394/5) highly valued.
  • Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH/SMSTS).

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to health and safety requirements and improve safety standards across plants.
  • Achieve and maintain Authorised Person status as training and role requires.
  • Undertake planned inspection and maintenance as per legal, technical and contractual requirements.
  • Inspect, test and maintain plant and equipment including AC and DC systems.
  • Troubleshoot sensors, networks and communications equipment; perform timely repairs.
  • Manage subcontractors with safety checks and quality control.
