Job Description:

TSG is powering progress with smart, sustainable energy solutions across Europe. As we expand our solar business, we're looking for a driven and technically skilled Solar Business Development Manager to lead our B2B solar growth journey across the UK.

About the opportunity:

In this pivotal position, you will take the lead in selling, designing, and delivering solar installation projects for commercial and industrial clients across the UK. You'll combine business development acumen with technical expertise to shape solar solutions that support both sustainability and business goals. Working closely with established TSG Group Solar leadership, you'll be instrumental in developing and expanding our solar capability in the UK.

What you'll do:

  • Promote TSG Solar services (installation and maintenance) to new and existing customers
  • Provide technical and commercial offers to present to potential customers and respond to calls for tender: CAPEX and OPEX estimates of installations, simulations of the performance of solar power plants in relation to the customer's energy consumption, and financial modelling.
  • Carry out the initial design of photovoltaic installations using relevant tools and software: layout, solar energy production, main electrical design, choice of components, etc.
  • Conduct site visits and initial feasibility studies for potential clients.
  • Negotiate with potential subcontractors and suppliers in accordance with Group policies and purchasing teams.
  • Report the commercial activity to the Managing Director and participate in the development of the local Solar activity with market perspectives, M&A objectives and organisational recommendations, etc.
  • Maintain CRM with precise information on current deals.
  • Be the main interface with TSG Group Solar Manager to communicate achievements, best practices, innovations, potential suppliers, M&A objectives, etc.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the Solar activity for the Group.
  • Stay informed of the local environment linked to B2B Solar activities (incentives, permits, injection rules, etc.) and monitor changes.
  • Identify and participate in professional associations related to solar, as well as conferences or trade shows.
  • Investigate local solar market news and TSG Solar competitors.
  • Be a key stakeholder in the company's HSE policy, particularly related to PV installation and maintenance.
  • Operate as main local contact for Group Solar, to report on solar activities

Interested? The following key skills and attributes will set you up for success:

  • Professional background in the solar photovoltaic sector is a must, with specific customer facing experience in project sales (solar EPC on roof, ground and carport) with commercials, industries and solar developers.
  • Ideally you will possess a level of knowledge and skill typically acquired through a Master's degree in engineering or equivalent, however non-academic, qualified through demonstrated experience will also hold you in good stead.
  • You'll have experience in maintaining functional specifications, commissioning checklists and standard operating practices for solar projects.
  • Knowledge of UK electrical standards, renewable energy regulations and building codes.
  • Good knowledge and experience of software specific to solar (such as PVSyst, Meteonorm, SolarGIS, Helioscope, Archelios).
  • Previous experience in the oil and gas, e-mobility, transportation and logistics or HVAC industries is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Sketchup, MS Project or AutoCAD
  • UK driving license, with a willingness to travel across the UK.
  • Happy to travel across Europe (2-3 times a year)
