SR2 - Socially Responsible Recruitment is seeking an Engineering Manager/Lead to own a major greenfield engineering programme in Swindon. You will lead two engineering teams, shape architecture, and drive modern practices across CI/CD, testing and cloud-native development.

You will work with senior stakeholders, grow into broader leadership, and take ownership of delivery with time to develop in the role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager/Lead.
• Strong C#/.NET technical background.
• Experience with APIs, microservices and integration.
• Experience driving engineering best practices and automation.
• Strong people leadership with ambition for a larger leadership role.

SR2 is recruiting a Software Engineering Leader to join a business undergoing significant technology transformation. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a major greenfield engineering programme, leading multiple engineering teams and helping embed modern engineering practices.

We're looking for someone with a strong software engineering background who is already operating as an Engineering Manager and is ready to take the next step into a broader leadership role. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a role with greater responsibility, with the support and time to grow into it. You'll be gradually given more ownership and accountability, rather than expected to hit the ground running from day one.

The Role:

• Lead two engineering teams, providing technical direction, coaching and people leadership.
• Take ownership of engineering delivery across a high-profile greenfield programme.
• Drive modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps and cloud-native development.
• Shape technical roadmaps, influence architectural decisions and champion engineering quality.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to manage technical risks, priorities and delivery.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager/Lead
• Technical expertise/background in C#/.NET
• Strong understanding of modern software architecture, APIs, microservices and integration.
• Experience driving engineering best practices, automation and continuous improvement.
• Strong people leadership skills, with the ambition to step into a larger leadership role.
