Job summary

Client Server is building a modern cloud-native platform for a growing financial services business. You will join a small, experienced team and work directly with the CTO to shape technical decisions and deliver high-impact features.

The role emphasizes ownership of backend services, APIs and cloud infrastructure, with strong emphasis on AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring security and architectural integrity.

Qualifications

• Strong full stack development experience with Node.js, TypeScript and React.
• Experience designing scalable APIs and cloud-native applications.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and modern cloud architectures.
• Experience integrating enterprise systems and building event-driven solutions.
• Comfortable working with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or Claude.
• Experience working in collaborative, start-up style environments with high levels of ownership.

Responsibilities

• Help design and build a modern cloud-native platform from the ground up using Node.js, TypeScript, React and Microsoft Azure.
• Take ownership of backend services, APIs, integrations and cloud infrastructure.
• Contribute to frontend development across the full technology stack.
• Design scalable APIs and build event-driven integrations.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code and establish engineering standards, CI/CD pipelines and architecture alongside the CTO.
• Work in an AI-first engineering environment, using modern AI development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality, security and technical design.

Salary: £90,000 - 90,000 per year

This is a high-impact, greenfield opportunity within a small, experienced engineering team where you will work directly with our CTO, influence technical decisions and see the immediate impact of your work. We offer a salary of up to £95k, strong progression as the company scales, and a flexible working arrangement with home working most of the time and meetings in our Bristol office once or twice a week.
