Job summary

Youngs Employment Services in London is expanding its in-house development team to build AI-enabled capabilities on a modern .NET/Azure platform. This hybrid role combines backend work with cloud-native engineering to deliver scalable services.

You will help migrate a complex booking system to.NET 10 microservices, collaborate with two mid-level engineers, and align with business stakeholders and the CTO. Hybrid work from Central/West London with some WFH days enhances flexibility.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of commercial experience as a Developer or Software Engineer with Microsoft tools.
• Strong backend development experience.
• Strong C# / .NET (v8+) experience.
• Strong Azure cloud-native development including AKS, Container Apps, Service Bus, API Management, and Azure DevOps.
• Good knowledge of SQL Server, EF Core migrations, and performance tuning.
• Experience with microservices patterns and frontend technologies (React/TypeScript/Angular).
• Strong team player capable of engaging with stakeholders and partners.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance AI-driven capabilities using modern AI technology.
• Migrate a complex monolithic booking system to a .NET 10 Azure-native microservices solution.
• Work hands-on across backend development and cloud-native engineering.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions that keep delivery front and centre.
• Collaborate with two mid-level full-stack engineers and report to the CTO.
• Engage with business stakeholders and third-party partners as needed.

Job description

Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• 6+ years of commercial experience as a Developer or Software Engineer, predominantly with Microsoft development tools
• Strong backend development experience
• Strong C# / .NET experience from version 8 onwards
• Strong Azure cloud-native development experience, including AKS, Container Apps, Service Bus, API Management, and Azure DevOps
• Good knowledge and experience with Azure AI Foundry
• Strong SQL / SQL Server experience, including schema design, EF Core migrations, and query performance tuning
• Good knowledge of software architecture, scalability, and best practices
• Experience with microservices patterns
• Experience with frontend development such as React, TypeScript, or Angular
• Strong team player who is comfortable engaging with business stakeholders and third-party partners

We are building an in-house development team in a small, flat-structured, collaborative environment where your contribution will make a real difference. This is a hybrid role based in Central/West London with work from home on Mondays and Fridays. It is an exciting greenfield opportunity to combine strong Microsoft .NET development experience with modern AI technology, helping us modernise our platform and expand our AI capabilities. The salary is circa £70,000 to £90,000 plus bonus and good benefits, with higher compensation considered for the right experience.
