Software Development Engineer, Alexa Customer Journeys

Are you passionate about inventing experiences that help customers discover ways to incorporate Generative AI in their daily lives? Do you want to work in a fast-paced environment surrounded by the smartest and most customer-obsessed product, engineering, marketing, and data science leaders? The Alexa Customer Journeys team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to make Alexa an expert on itself, providing useful information and experiences to customers leveraging all device features.

You will build solutions and systems working with Large Language Models (LLM) and other generative technologies. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Quality Assurance Engineers, and Product Managers to design customer-facing experiences and develop solutions to enhance Alexa's capabilities.

Key job responsibilities

1. Design, develop, test, and deploy distributed machine learning systems and large-scale solutions for a global customer base.
2. Collaborate with Data/Applied Scientists to influence strategy and define the team's roadmap.
3. Drive system architecture, promote best practices, and mentor junior engineers.

Ideal candidates will have a background in large-scale software systems, strong technical skills, excellent communication, and motivation to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, focusing on reliability and scaling.
• Experience supporting title development, release, or live operations in the Video Games Industry for 3+ years.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations for 3+ years.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
