As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank, you will play a crucial role in delivering an outstanding banking experience. You will work in a collaborative, diverse, and geographically distributed team. We seek individuals with a curious mindset, a keen interest in new technology, and a solution-oriented approach, especially in the financial sector. Our teams focus on areas such as fraud prevention, identity services, money transfers, card payments, lending, onboarding, core banking, insurance, rewards campaigns, and servicing innovations.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Deliver end-to-end solutions using cloud-native microservices architecture, leveraging the latest technologies and best practices.
  2. Utilize domain modeling techniques to develop top-tier business products.
  3. Structure software for clarity, testability, and maintainability.
  4. Design scalable architectures that prevent single points of failure.
  5. Develop secure code to protect against malicious actors.
  6. Investigate and resolve issues promptly to prevent recurrence.
  7. Ensure releases occur with zero downtime.
  8. Optimize data read/write operations for efficiency.
  9. Monitor and improve system performance.
  10. Maintain system reliability and ease of operation.
  11. Continuously update technologies and patterns.
  12. Support products throughout their lifecycle, including in production and incident management.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills

  1. Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with practical experience.
  2. Recent hands-on experience as a back-end software engineer.
  3. Proficiency in Java programming language.
  4. Experience designing and implementing various types of tests.
  5. Excellent communication skills in English.
  6. Experience with cloud technologies, distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and web technologies.
  7. Knowledge of messaging frameworks.
  8. Experience supporting and securing mission-critical software applications.
  9. Understanding of different data stores, including relational databases.
  10. Ability to coach team members on coding practices and design principles.
  11. Stakeholder management and prioritization skills.

  1. Experience working in highly regulated environments.
  2. Expertise in cloud-native microservices architecture.
  3. Proficiency with AWS cloud technologies.
