Job summary

Pinnacle Group is seeking an experienced Soft Services Manager to lead our Total Facilities Management division across seven school sites in North Swindon. You’ll manage recruitment, training, budgets and health & safety compliance while delivering high-quality soft services and driving operational excellence.

The ideal candidate has proven experience in soft FM, strong people management and a track record of managing contracts worth £1m+.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing soft FM services including cleaning, property maintenance, catering and grounds maintenance.
• Strong people-management experience supporting dispersed teams and frontline staff.
• Experience managing contracts of £1m+ with strong commercial and operational oversight.
• Strong budget management skills with profit and loss awareness.
• Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Enhanced DBS clearance or IOSH Managing Safely is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular audits, inspections and risk assessments to maintain high standards.
• Ensure services meet contract specs, KPIs and site health and safety plans.
• Lead on-site teams, oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, rota planning and performance management.
• Supervise facilities managers, caretakers and cleaning teams to ensure consistent service delivery.
• Manage subcontractors ensuring compliance, quality standards and safe working practices.
• Liaise with stakeholders and monitor contract budget to stay within limits.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation across operations.
• Respond to incidents and drive continuous improvement in service delivery.

Pinnacle Group are looking for an experienced Soft Services Manager to join our Total Facilities Management division.

You will be responsible for ensuring all soft services are delivered across seven school sites based in North Swindon to a consistently high standard, on time and within budget, while leading an experience FM team, managing recruitment and training, monitoring performance, managing budgets and ensuring full health and safety compliance.

Building strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders will be key to maintaining service quality and driving operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing soft services contracts within the facilities management sector, with a strong focus on service quality and client satisfaction.

You will demonstrate effective financial control, strong analytical and reporting skills, and the ability to conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

Conduct regular audits, inspections and risk assessments to maintain high operational standards.

Ensure all services meet contract specifications, KPIs and site-specific Health & Safety plans.

Lead, manage and support on-site teams, including overseeing recruitment, onboarding, training, rota planning and performance management.

Provide day to day supervision and motivation to Facilities managers, caretakers, and cleaning team, ensuring consistent service delivery across all sites.

Manage subcontractors, ensuring compliance, quality standards and safe working practices for catering, grounds and pest control.

Carry out site walkabouts and liaise with key stakeholders.

Assist in managing and monitoring the contract budget to ensure expenditure stays within agreed limits.

Ensure full compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation across all operations.

Respond to incidents, hazards and service issues promptly and implement corrective actions.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key requirements

Proven experience managing soft FM services, specifically cleaning, property maintenance, catering and grounds maintenance.

Strong people-management experience, including leading dispersed teams, supervising frontline staff, setting performance standards and supporting development.

Experience managing contracts of £1m or above, with strong commercial and operational oversight.

Strong budget management skills, including exposure to full profit and loss accountability.

Solid knowledge of health & safety regulations, compliance standards and industry best practice.

Cleared Enhanced DBS IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) is advantageous.
