Job summary

Midlothian Council is seeking a Social Worker for the Learning Disability Team at Fairfield House. The role is permanent and 36 hours per week, with a pattern Monday–Friday. The post requires PVG membership and SSSC registration, with a focus on assessment, care management and multi-team collaboration.

The successful candidate will work with adults with learning disabilities, including those with complex needs, and liaise with care providers and health professionals to ensure coordinated care.

Qualifications

• A degree in Social Work and registration with the SSSC as a Social Worker is essential.
• A Diploma in Social Work with SSSC registration is an acceptable alternative.
• Experience working with individuals with Learning Disabilities is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess and provide social work and social care services to adults with Learning Disabilities, some with complex care needs.
• Manage a complex workload and chair meetings and reviews.
• Undertake adult support and protection activities and participate in case conferences.
