Job summary

Gloucestershire County Council is seeking a Social Work Lead for the new Community Reablement Service in Gloucestershire. You will provide professional leadership, supervision and support to a multidisciplinary team to promote independence and wellbeing.

You will oversee safeguarding, care planning and complex decision‑making, while shaping the development of a countywide service and ensuring smooth client transitions from reablement to longer‑term support.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
• ASYE completion and significant post-qualifying experience within Adult Social Care.
• Experience supervising or mentoring Social Workers and other practitioners.
• Excellent knowledge of Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and safeguarding responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership, supervision and support to Social Workers, Social Care Practitioners and Reablement Coordinators.
• Promote strengths-based, person-centred practice and oversee safeguarding enquiries.
• Coordinate Front Door Hub referrals and ensure timely decision-making for reablement pathways.
• Support service development and professional coaching within a fast-paced environment.
