Qualifications

• Experience delivering social value activities.
• Experience in sustainability or CSR roles within government, construction, professional services, training or skills development.

• Track programme costs, performance and risks, and raise issues promptly.

• Organise and manage stakeholder visits, engagement programmes, functions and events.

Job description

Following an internal promotion, Ridge is looking for a Social Value Project Consultant to join our social value team.

You’ll manage and deliver social value commitments across Ridge projects in a range of sectors. You’ll also work with multidisciplinary teams to design practical, innovative initiatives that create lasting benefits for clients and communities.

Social value is central to how we operate responsibly and deliver positive social, economic and environmental outcomes. In this role, you’ll help embed that approach into our project delivery and support clients on their own social impact journeys.

Our projects are split into 3 regions. You’ll support projects linked to our Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds offices, so you’ll build strong relationships across the North and work closely with colleagues, clients and delivery partners.

Role And Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of social value programmes linked to Ridge projects.
• Track programme costs, performance and risks, and raise issues promptly.
• Identify opportunities to use our social value expertise within projects and client work.
• Work with stakeholders to deliver programmes that support our four strategic outcomes: equitable economy, resilient communities, responsible business and environmental stewardship.
• Build positive relationships with clients, community groups, voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, schools and other local partners.
• Collect, analyse and report data so teams and clients can assess progress against agreed targets.
• Take a proactive approach to improving performance and promoting social value to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with teams across Ridge to design initiatives that suit each project, discipline and community.
• Support bid teams to develop project-specific community plans.
• Organise and manage stakeholder visits, engagement programmes, functions and events.
• Help coordinate communications, public relations and media activity that showcases our social value work.
• Write project case studies and thought leadership articles on key social value topics.
• Help Ridge leave a positive legacy in the communities where we work.

About You

You’re passionate about creating social value and can communicate confidently with colleagues, clients and external partners. You know how to turn commitments into well-planned activities and measurable outcomes.

You’ll Bring

• Experience delivering social value activities.
• Previous experience in a role such as Social Value Manager, Social Value Coordinator, Social Value Officer, Section 106 Officer or a similar position.
• Experience in sustainability and in a social value or corporate social responsibility role within government, construction, professional services, training or skills development.
• Strong project management, analytical and data interpretation skills.
• Clear written communication and excellent attention to detail.
• Strong networking and relationship management skills.
• The confidence to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
