Job summary

Advanced, a UK-based manufacturer within Halma, is seeking Production Operators to support the SMT production of PCBs. You will operate SMT machinery, select programmes, and ensure quality while keeping a safe, clean environment.

Training will be provided as part of a collaborative manufacturing team. Experience in SMT manufacturing or electronics production is desirable, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work flexibly in a shift-based role.

Qualifications

• Experience in SMT manufacturing, electronics production or PCB assembly is desirable.
• Comfort with operating machinery and following assembly build documentation.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.

Responsibilities

• Operate SMT equipment and select appropriate programmes to populate PCBs.
• Follow established processes and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production cell.

About The Role

The purpose of this role is to support the efficient and safe production of high-quality products, ensuring customer requirements, production targets, and quality standards are consistently met. Working as part of a collaborative manufacturing team, Production Operators will follow established processes, operate production equipment, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that support operational performance and business success.

What You’ll Be Doing

The main responsibilities for these roles will be to work within our SMT (Surface Mount Technology) cell for the operation of and selection of relevant programmes for our machines, in order to populate the Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).

Relevant Experience

• Experience of working in an SMT facility


• Confidence in working machinery (full training provided)


• Being able to understand assembly build documents


• Inspection and touch up of PCBS experience

Education and training

Full training will be provided; however, previous experience within SMT manufacturing, electronics production, PCB assembly, or a similar production environment is desirable

• Have a willingness to learn the new skills required to operate the SMT line


• Are a great team player who works well both alone and with others


• Have excellent attention to detail, dexterity, and the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately

• £27,309.75 annual salary with a 15% shift allowance

Working Hours

2 weeks Day shift 6am-2:30 pm Monday to Thursday & 6am to 12 midday Friday

2 weeks back shift 2pm to midnight Monday to Thursday
