Job summary

Imperium Building Systems is seeking an Estimating Engineer in Carshalton, Surrey. You will prepare detailed cost estimates and initial designs for smart building technology projects, coordinating with our technical team and clients to deliver accurate, competitive proposals.

The role requires 3–5 years in estimation for BMS, strong analytical skills, and experience with cost components, vendors, and bid development.

Qualifications

Experience estimating complex BMS/Smart building projects.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specs.
Experience with costings, subcontractors and vendors.

Responsibilities

Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for smart building technology systems, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Project Assessment: Review project specifications, technical drawings, and documentation to fully understand project scope, identify key requirements, and inform accurate costing.
Vendor Coordination: Source, review, and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with specifications.
Proposal Development: Develop clear, comprehensive, and competitive bid proposals, addressing all client requirements effectively.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with projects and propose practical strategies to mitigate these.
Client Interaction: Engage proactively with clients to clarify project details, discuss estimates, and resolve any queries or concerns.
Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate records of estimates, bid proposals, revisions, and related correspondence.
Collaboration & Support: Closely coordinate with project managers, design engineers, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure project estimates align with ongoing project activities and variations.
