TJENG is recruiting for a Sliding Head CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator. You will turn engineering drawings into precise components, selecting tooling, setting up machines, and proving out new jobs.

Based in the United Kingdom, the role focuses on programming, setting and operating sliding head CNC lathes, improving cycle times, and maintaining close tolerances with safe working practices.

Qualifications

• Practical experience programming, setting and operating sliding head CNC lathes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and produce tight tolerances.

Responsabilités

• Create and edit CNC programs using G-code and offline CAM.
• Set tooling, guide bushes and workholding, then prove out jobs.
• Run sliding head lathes and adjust offsets to maintain accuracy.
• Check dimensions and surface finish using micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• Maintain safe working practices throughout the machining process.

The opportunity as Sliding Head Machinist

You’ll turn engineering drawings into accurate, finished components, choosing the tooling and machine setup needed to get the job right. Alongside programming and proving out new jobs, you’ll refine existing programs, troubleshoot machining issues and keep production running efficiently.

Your work will include:

• Creating and editing CNC programs using G-code and/or offline CAM software.
• Setting tooling, guide bushes and workholding, then proving out jobs.
• Running sliding head lathes and adjusting offsets to maintain accuracy.
• Checking dimensions and surface finish using micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• Maintaining safe working practices throughout the machining process.
