Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is seeking an experienced CNC machinist to join a precision engineering team in South Devon. You will programme, set and operate sliding-head CNC machines (Star SJ10/SJ12 and Citizen) to produce high-precision components.

This permanent role offers a salary of £45,000-£55,000 with overtime, pension and on-site parking, in a highly specialised manufacturing environment with long-term career prospects.

Qualifications

• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC sliding-head machines.
• Experience with Star SJ10 and/or SW12 machines.
• Experience with Citizen machinery.
• Good knowledge of Fanuc controls and CNC programming.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and maintain tight tolerances.

Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting on behalf of an established precision engineering business in South Devon for an experienced CNC Sliding Head Turner, Programmer, Setter and Operator.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience working on Star and Citizen sliding-head machinery who is looking for a long-term, permanent position within a specialist manufacturing environment.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced CNC machinist with a strong background in sliding-head/Swiss-type machining.

You should have:

• Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC sliding-head machines.
• Experience with Star SJ10 and/or SW12 machines.
• Experience with Citizen machinery.
• Good knowledge of Fanuc controls.
• CNC programming skills.
• The ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.
• The ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• A methodical approach to quality and precision.
• Experience within electronics, opto-electronics, or other high-precision manufacturing environments would be advantageous.
