Job Title: Skills Coordinator

Location: Bolton, Newcastle, Derby, Warrington (dependant on candidate location)

Salary: £33,000 per annum

Do you have a track record of coordinating training, anticipating what needs to happen next and putting effective processes in place?

We’re looking for an experienced Administrator/Coordinator to support our Learning & Development team. You’ll support a varied programme of training, induction and early careers activity, ensuring learners, colleagues and suppliers have the information and support they need.

Reporting to the Learning & Development Manager, you’ll take ownership of coordination, plan ahead and follow actions through to completion. You’ll also identify gaps in how we work and establish practical processes that improve the quality and consistency of our service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating classroom and virtual training, including scheduling, learner communications and arrangements with training providers.
  • Maintaining accurate, secure training records, gathering learner feedback and collating evaluations to inform improvements.
  • Maintaining the approved supplier list, raising purchase orders and liaising with finance to ensure delivery is paid on time.
  • Maintaining L&D project plans, tracking deadlines and actions, and coordinating skills review meetings.
  • Establishing and maintaining systems and processes that help the team deliver projects to agreed timescales.
  • Maintaining accurate L&D information on SharePoint and the knowledge network, and responding to queries with clear guidance on policies and processes.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the People Function, Technical Governance and Quality, Health, Safety and Environment, sharing information and anticipating upcoming requirements.
Qualifications
  • A Level 3 qualification in Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience, and a commitment to your own professional development.
Essential experience and skills:
  • Proven experience in a training or Learning & Development environment, coordinating learning activities and supporting learners, colleagues and training providers.
  • Experience establishing and implementing processes, with clear examples of what you introduced, why it was needed and how it improved delivery.
  • Proactive organisation: planning ahead, identifying dependencies, anticipating problems and taking action before they affect delivery.
  • Successful management of competing priorities, using your own judgement to keep activities on track and maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Accurate record keeping and reporting, including handling confidential information appropriately and producing reliable written and numerical information.
  • Strong communication and customer service, building effective working relationships and responding clearly and promptly to queries.
  • Confident use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and L&D tools, with the ability to maintain shared information and learn new systems.
Additional Information
  • Occasional travel to our Head Office in Bolton.

Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance.

We are committed to equal treatment of candidates and promote, as well as foster all forms of diversity within our company. We believe that bringing together people with different backgrounds and perspectives is essential for creating innovative and impactful solutions. Skills, talent, and our people’s ability to dare are the only things that matter !. Bring your unique contributions and help us shape the future.
