Job summary

Arriva Kent Thameside Limited looking for an experienced PSV Mechanic to join our Southend depot. You will service, maintain and repair a fleet of buses and coaches to Arriva and DVSA standards, with diagnostic fault finding and reactive repairs.

The role is 40 hours per week, on a full-time, permanent basis, with a competitive hourly rate and overtime. Benefits include 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, free bus travel for you and a nominated family member, pension and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• Qualifications for PSV/HGV maintenance and repair - Minimum of NVQ level 3 or any equivalent international qualification (will require confirmation).
• A full UK driving licence (6 points or less).
• Ability to be passed fit for a PCV pre-employment medical.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
• Continuous improvement of vehicle reliability.
• MOT preparation, planned preventative maintenance campaigns and quality checks.
• Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva Standards (Higher than DVSA).
• Attending roadside breakdowns.

Job description

We are looking for experienced and ambitious Skilled Shift PSV Mechanic to join Arriva, based at our Southend depot. As a PSV Engineer, your role would involve carrying out planned and preventative maintenance along with diagnostic fault finding and reactive repairs to a fleet of commercially operated buses & coaches, to the strict standards set by both Arriva, and the DVSA.
